Description:
Serial #1160, .45LC/.410 Gage, 10" octagon blued barrel with the 2" exterior screw in choke tube standard on this barrel. This is the first generation of the Contender made soon after the company began production in 1967. This has the vintage engraved frame with the cougar image. The original sterling silver grip cap has not been engraved. The screws attaching the plate were slightly deformed when installed. The blued barrel rates excellent to new with very minimal handling marks and a bright shiny bore. Likewise the frame and trigger guard rate excellent to new with a shiny bright appearance. The walnut grip and forearm appear excellent to new with only minimal handling marks. The lock up mechanism is tight with a crisp snap when closed. Overall the gun is as new with only minimal signs of handling and use. A near new example of a very early, C&R eligible Contender. FFL or C&R
