Description:
Marlin Model 39A .22LR/L/S lever action rifle, dated to 1954. This rifle features smooth American black walnut furniture with a straight grip, fluted comb, checkered plastic buttpad, in addition to a rich blued finish, and a Weaver rifle scope. The rifle also has a takedown feature, via the large thumb screw on the receiver. The rifle is JM marked, and was manufactured during the pre-safety era, with no manual safety, only a half-cock notch. The rifle is in excellent working order with a great bore and a smooth action, with some signs of light use, but appears to have been very well cared for, as seen in the photos. The plastic butt pad appears to be a bit proud of the stock, as shown. The hammer and lever appear to have been reblued, and, as seen in the photos, "Mark McKenna Dec. 25, 1960" has been hand engraved in the side of the receiver.
