Description:
This double barreled gun was acquired by my father and sent home as his 6th Armored Division advanced across Germany in WWII.  It was used little as my father didn’t want to be around any guns after the war.  From what I can find out, it is probably a “guild gun” nitro-proofed in Suhl sometime between 1912 and 1922;  16 gage with 2.5” or 2 9/16 chamber; left barrel choked: two triggers; shell ejector.  The barrel is 29.5” long. The opening and firing mechanism is tight and works well.  The wooden stock butt end and the pistol grip portion have apparently been repaired where it was scratched or chipped, but the engraving is beautiful—hunting scenes of quail, rabbits, goose, and hunting dog.
