Description:
Blued J-frame Smith & Wesson Model 37 Chief's Special Airweight with original instructions. This double-action 5-shot revolver features blue finish, alloy frame, fixed sights, and checkered wood grips. It is serial number AAS0559 which puts it's date of manufacture in 1982. The blue finish on this gun rates 95%, with the only deductions coming from some very tiny handling marks, light wear at the muzzle and a faint drag-line around the cylinder. The bores in both the barrel and cylinder are mirror-bright and no visible imperfections. The rifling still looks new with sharp lands and grooves throughout the barrel. The factory grips are in very good overall condition as well, with most of the wear being on the left panel. Both grips are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the metal with no wiggle. The action on this Smith is perfectly "in time" and smooth. The trigger is especially good in single-action operation, breaking with a light pull with no excessive travel or grit. This revolver works 100% like the day it left the factory 38 years ago. The Model 37 comes complete with a factory original manual. This Chief's Special Airweight would be a great addition to any collection as both an investment and as a shooter/home-defense weapon.
