Description:
This is an early model 1894 manufactured in 1897 (S/N 118642). The gun has a 26' Octagon barrel and is in 25-35 caliber. The metal surfaces of the receiver retain aproximately 20% of the original blue finish, the barrel 60% and the magazine aproximately 40%. The wood stock and forend are solid with no splits or chips. The stock shows normal dents and scratces from handling as would be expected in a gun of this age. The fit to metal is smooth and tight. The gun has all original parts and functions smoothly. The bore is dark, but with strong complete lands and grooves. The rear sight is a ladder adjustable Buckhorn and the front sight is a Marble/ Sheard Blade.
