Description:
London, circa 1790. Cal. 80. Brass 3 stage round cannon barrel w/wedding ring transitions to flared 1.5" muzzle. Engraved "LONDON" & marked with commercial proofs. Tapered lock engraved "BATEMAN" which is fitted w/integral pan, unbridled frizzed & early unsupported serpentine cock. European walnut straight grain stock extends to flare of barrel. Stock is brass mounted w/2 screw lock eschutcheon side plate. Condition: very good considering age of 230 years, attic found and condition, iron has dark brown patina, brass has a molted mixed light mustard & olive patina. Crack between lock and trigger guard. Mechanics are fine w/clean, smooth bore.
