<<<SOLD>>>>A very intriguing Colt Civil WAr era revovler in .36 cal with a fluted five shot cylinder(1862 Police) with correct patent dats of Sept. Sept. 10th 1850. Frame and barrel SN clearly14050. Most likely assembled by two guns long time ago/ The brass T.G. and Bk Strp> are SN 246943, and yet the fame has Colt's Patent on the left side, and over the trigger guard saying clearly .31 cal. Looks like maybe an 1862 upper? and 1849 lower?.. The barrel top has much wear can can read: NEW YORK,U.S.A. action is sluggish but works...Overall finish is dark metal and possibly added color, brass mustard color. fingered rammer has color case hardening possibly a replacement? The r]original America Colt made black walnut grips are very good, much original finish.
