Made for only a few short years (1946-48) following WWII, good transition rifles are TOUGH to find, and particularly so in scarce .257 Roberts caliber! This one is a beauty at 96%+ and 100% originality. S/N 85*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1948. This rifle features the unique combination of cloverleaf tang and "clamshell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever seen only during this brief production era. It wears a very nice piece of walnut with a pleasing color and nice grain. 24" Barrel. Bore and mechanics are excellent. A VERY fine rifle in an all-around superb, low recoiling caliber.
