<<<<SOLD>>>Gun works good on half cock, and full cock. The hammer is a re-enforced cock like English pistols of the era, but the gun appears to be more of a Dutch export.The barrel is about 9" long and the muzzle is very thin from being fired many times. Overall length is about 16" and comes with a tapered hardwood ram-rod. I haven't seen any barrel proofs or lock markings; so this was made for export from Europe.Mellow brass furniture, and long langet butt-cap of the 18th century. Evidence that the flat brass side plate had a belt hook, as there is one extra hole for that purpose. The barrel retaining pins are not separate, but on a long rod as seen on the right side of the gun, a good idea as when the stock pins were removed for gun cleaning they could easily be dropped in a rolling ship and not easily found! May have had a belt hook at one time..Nose wood may have been re-attached by possibly an added piece as they were prone to break off when the stock pin was removed and re-assembled many times . An intriguing , and interesting flint lock pistol. Check my inventory of rare grips, unusual gun parts, barrels and holsters.
