Description:
WW2 Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet with original leather frog. This bayonet fits the Type 99 Arisaka, the main battle rifle of the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy. Produced at Kokura Arsenal, this bayonet is in very nice original condition with an unsharpened and undamaged blade. The blade shows some very light corrosion typical of blood stains. The frog is still in very nice condition with strong stitching and supple leather. The leather keeper that attaches the frog to the scabbard is broken, but other than that is excellent condition for its age. Finding any WW2 Japanese leather or canvas field gear is rare these days as not many survived the tropical conditions of the Pacific Theatre. A beautiful example of a Type 30 bayonet that would go great with a Type 99 Arisaka rifle or in an WW2 Japanese military collection.
