Description:
Ithaca NID 3E SxS Pigeon gun. 12 gauge gun with 32” vent factory rib barrels, twin ivory beads; both sides measure .733” diameter with nominal wall thicknesses of a very thick .045” and they are both choked .035” or a tight full with mirror excellent bores. The frame is engraved in a typical Ithaca Gr 3 pattern: one woodcock on the left with scroll, one quail and scroll on the right and one flying duck and scroll on the bottom. There is little to no case colors remaining on the frame and it now is in a bright patina. Original rust barrel blue is excellent and just thinning a bit in spots. The capped pistol grip stock and the beavertail forearm have been refinished. Before refinishing there were matching repairs on the top left and right sides of the stock where it fits to the frame just behind the cocking indicators. A newer 1” Pachamayr pad was fitted some time ago giving the gun a 14 5/8” LOP from the single non-selective trigger to the end of the recoil pad; 1 ½” DAC & 2 ¼” DAH with neutral cast. Automatic ejectors and non-automatic safety finishes the features. The gun is mechanically excellent, on face and weighs 8 lbs. 11 oz. It is very scarce to find a 3E in this Live Pigeon configuration.
