Description:
Serial #1221, .22 RF, 3" octagonal barrel with a fair, dark bore. This Smith & Wesson No. 1 clone has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and floral engraved barrel, with an overall mottled blue-black patina on the original silver plated frame, about 85-90% of which still remains. A mixed plum-brown and dull gray patina is present on the barrel and cylinder, with some mild bubbling and freckling throughout. The lock-up is fairly firm, with a lot of lateral play in the barrel, and the extremely fragile cylinder stop is still intact, but does not currently function. The left side of the barrel latch is broken off as well. The rosewood grips have flaked piano varnish with numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes on both sides. This is a rare example of a 1st model, 1st issue Manhattan .22 Pocket, and is in fair overall condition. Antique
