Description:
Model 54 action. Fleur-de-Lis style checkered straight stock in excellent condition with most varnish remaining. Complete with cheek piece and Schuetzen style buttplate. Gun features correct double set triggers. Has a Stevens Pope marked barrel which is extra heavy weight. Caliber 32-40 with good bore. Sights include wingauge front sight and Stevens Vernier folding tang sight. The extra heavy barrel is serial number matched to the gun and sticks out about 1/16 inch over the frame. Barrel has about 90% thinning blue, sharp corners and good marking. Receiver has about 25% case colors turning a nickel color and has beautiful scroll engraving. Lever is a Pope style lever. Overall gun is in fine shape and very scarce. Quite an unusual gun. Pope number 957 barrel. Never tapped for a scope.
