Description:
This is probably the coolest Ithaca I have ever owned . In 1960 Shelly Smith,  who was the president of Ithaca Gun at the time decided to use up the remaining inventory of double gun parts to build guns for his son Shelly Smith Jr .  Ed Thompson who was the head of the service department came up with enough parts for a 410 and 20 GA , the serial numbers were not consecutive, as they were left over recievers and forends . Shelly Smith had Bill Mcgraw engrave the recievers with a  special scene , and had Clarence Hollam build the stocks. One of the greatest facts of the gun is that Bill Mcgraw engraved the trigger guards with raised Gold  'Shelly Smith Jr. 1962'  but had to change the '1962' to '1964' because the guys and girls in the factory didnt get the guns done in time . This gun, as well as the 20 Ga is pictured on Pg. 336 of Walt Snyders book ' Ithaca Gun From the Beginning'. The gun will also come with 5 pages of documents detailing the build and history of both guns from Shelly Smith (Former  President of Ithaca Gun ) . As for the gun, it is flawless , 410 ga , 26'' barrels , beavertail forend  it comes with a Rabar front sight which is documented in the factory paperwork . This is a great piece of ithaca History .
