Description:
This is a very nice Ruger Model 77 RSI (Rifle Sights, International) rifle that was manufactured in 1984. This little rifle is chambered in .308 Winchester and features a gloss-blue factory finish, a 18.5" inch barrel with iron sights, a tang-mounted 2-position safety, an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, integral scope ring mounts built into the receiver, and a full-length checkered American Walnut stock with factory sling mounts and a Ruger-branded red recoil pad. These handsome and classy little rifles were discontinued in 1993 and have become quite sought-after by collectors and shooters alike. This particular example has been used but not abused. The original gloss blue factory finish rates 95% plus, with only some very minor handling marks visible under close inspection. The bore in the 18.5" inch barrel is mirror-bright and clean, with sharp rifling still visible throughout the barrel and with no visible imperfections, erosion, or pitting. The original factory rear sight has been removed for scope clearance and is no onger with the gun. The Mannlicher style stock on this rifle is in good condition overall and completely free from any cracks, repairs, or major damage. It does show scattered small handling/storage marks throughout the stock, with most of these marks consisting of shallow dings or scratches that do not go thru the clearcoat. There is a concentration of these marks under the upper sling mount where some sling hardware made contact with the stock. The factory checkering on the wrist and forearm are still crisp and clean. All of the stock hardware is in very good condition and intact. The action on this rifle is slick and smooth, typical of a vintage Ruger Model 77. The bolt turns into battery perfectly and locks up tight. All of the controls on this M77 RSI are in perfect working order. This handsome little rifle should function flawlessly and shoot accurately. As mentioned in the title, this Ruger comes with a set of period gloss blue 1" inch factory rings in very good condition. All this Ruger lacks to be ready for the woods is a good scope. If you have been looking for one of these hard-to-find M77 RSI models here is your chance to get a nice, honest, all-original example in a great caliber.
