Description:
Rugged, reliable simple design with match winning accuracy. The Model 99 is a single shot long range precision shooting platform. The .416 Barrett cartridge was designed in 2005 in response to a request from the Naval Surface Warfare Center.It is a shortened .50 BMG case necked to .416 caliber and initally designed to fire a narrower and significantly higher velocity bullet. The 396 gr German manufactured CNC machined solid brass boattail spitzer leaves the 32" barrel at 3,150 feet per second.This projectile is balistically superior to the .50 BMG and is claimed to keep the bullet supersonic out to 1,900 yds ~ 1.2 miles.
