Randall Model # 12-11" Smithsonian Bowie late 1953, weighing 36 ounces, overall length 16-1/8". It's eleven inches long, two-and-three-eight inches blade from a full three-eighths of an inch thick steel stock has a brass lugged guard. India Sambar stag handle fitted with a brass butt cap and extended nut. Contained in the original Hermann H. Heiser Saddlery Company, Denver,Colorado dark brown button leather scabbard with original sharpening stone in hone pocket. Blade shape seen on the knife is typical of those early Bowies as they "widen" right at the ricasso toward the top cutting edge which is concave in its final shape. This very rare, well preserved and historically important Randall Bowie should captivale knife collectors, Randall aficionados/connoisseurs seeking a trophy in one of the most stunning and unique condition to be find today.
