We are offering for sale a U.S. Springfield MODEL 1863 Percussion Rifle chambered in .58 caliber. This is an original rifle in very good overall condition with original bayonet.
40” barrel is very good with a nice bright finish. No damage noted. Original front blade sight and rear 3-leaf sight intact. Bore is clean without pitting; Rifling present. Barrel is marked “1863” next to bolster. Sidelock is very good with light surface wear; Crisp and legible markings. Dated “1863”. The gun functions flawlessly! Two cartouches on left side above trigger. “US” marked buttplate. All three “U” marked barrel bands intact. Original ramrod intact. “US” marked bayonet is correct for the rifle.
