Description:
#122813, Winchester 375 H&H Super Grade Model 70 Pre-64 Made in 1949 that remains a very solid working rifle, 25" barrel, No rear sight and was never drilled or tapped for one, Factory front sight hood, Machined integral front ramp, It had a Griffin & Howe side mount at one time that was removed and the 5 holes plugged, The front receiver ring is factory drilled and tapped but the rear bridge is not, Standard 3 position safety, The bolt is not jeweled, Standard Model 70 hinged floorplate marked Super Grade, Super Grade stock with a straight comb and without the monte carlo comb, Cheekpiece, Standard Super Grade wrap around point pattern checkering, Black bakelite forend tip, Two screw tiedown sling eyes, Correct Super Grade swivels, WRAC grip cap, 13 3/4" LOP over the factory recoil pad with their logo, 9 lbs. 7 oz., The barrel and action reblued and now at 98%, The floorplate and trigger guard appear to have the original blue and it is at 96%, The original wood finish at 80% with handling marks scattered about, The checkering is 96%, The bore is excellent plus and looks like new. We had the gun apart and it is totally free of any cracks inside or out. The stock also free of any oil soak inside. This piece certainly has been out of camp, but I don't believe it ever was shot a lot as it is solid in every respect and the bore is as new.
