Description:
Marlin 1893 lever action rifle. Chambered in 38-55WCF. 28" Octagonal Barrel with full lenth magazine tube. Serial #192995 made in 1899. This rifle is in near original condition with factory octagon barrel in blue and case hardened receiver. Crescent butt plate. Color case still present on reciever, lever and hammer. Barrel and magazine tube have freckling and light pitting. Not sure if the front blade is factory but I have seen them on other 1893's. One of the forend cap screws is a replacement as is one of the tang screws behind hammer. Stock appears original and unrefinished with assorted dents and handling marks. Barrel stamped "Special Smokeless Steel". Top of receiver stamped "Marlin Safety". Bore and rifling in good condition. Small divot in barrel crown at 5:00 position. Good overall example of a pre-1900 Marlin in mostly original condition with honest wear.
