Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Termed by Remington as their "New Repeating Pistol, Elliot's Patent", this little 5 shot pistol chambered in .22 Short was made sometime between 1863 to the mid 1870's. Remington made approximately 25,000 of these pistols total between both the .22 Short model and slightly larger .32 Rimfire model. This pistol features a five-shot stationary 3" barrel cluster with a revolving firing pin, a ring-style trigger, and a break-open type action triggered by a sliding small lever just forward of the trigger. These little pocket pistols were quite popular at the time, and they proved to be very reliable and well-made. This particular example is serial number 6909, and is in good condition overall as it has been restored at some point along the way. The refinished bluing is both clean and bright, showing very little wear and rating 95% plus. The 5 barrel bores are in average to good condition. While all of them show nice strong rifling they also show some pitting, particularly in the grooves. The Mother of Pearl grips are in beautiful condition, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The grips are very nicely fit to the gun, and both sides are tight to the metal with no wiggle. All of the controls on this little Remington-Elliot are in working order, and the action locks up perfectly. The revolving firing pin seems to be in perfect time whether it is worked fast or slow. If you have been looking for a really neat antique piece to add to your collection this restored Remington-Elliot .22 Deringer would be a great choice. As an antique it can be shipped directly to your house.
