Description:
Early Type 99 - Model of 1939 is a bolt action rifle with 27 inch barrel chambered in 7.7 Jap caliber. Factory markings are of the Toyo Kogyo. This one even has the Dust Cover remaining, that is usually the first thing to go because they rattled. Also has Anti-Aircraft sights and the Monopod. Sling swivels and the cleaning rod are present as well as a muzzle cover. Steel butt plate. The Mum has been ground off. This is a fine looking example with most all of the original blue remaining. The Type 99 rifle is considered to be a very solid weapon and having one of the strongest receiver assemblies of any military rifle of its time. The Type 99 rifle would have been outfitted with the the Type 30 Bayonet. The blade has the markings of the Hikari Seiki Seisakusho Arsenal, or the Tokyo Hourglass. It also has a serial number on the end of handle. Also included is a box of Norma ammo that has been fire but you get 12 brass cases that you can use for reloading. No Import markings just the ground off mum. A nice looking piece of history!
