Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a beautiful all-original 6" Smith & Wesson Model 57 (no dash) .41 Magnum Target revolver with a factory target hammer, trigger, and Goncalo Alves grips. The S&W Model 57 .41 Magnum Target was first introduced in February of 1964. The N-frame square-butt revolver was offered in blued or nickel finish and in three barrel lengths of 4", 6", and 8 & 3/8ths" inches. It features a pinned barrel with a shrouded ejector rod, a 6-shot counter-bored cylinder, a red ramped front sight, a white-outline adjustable rear target sight, a target hammer, a target trigger, and special oversized Golcalo Alves target grips. This was the top of the line .41 Remington Magnum revolver from Smith & Wesson and remained in production until 1993 with four engineering changes made from 1982 to 1993. This particular example is a "no dash" gun made in 1980 with the sought-after pinned barrel and counter-bored cylinder. It has obviously lived a very easy life and appears to have been fired very little. The original gloss blue factory finish is beautiful, showing only some minor handling marks and tiny spots of prior corrosion mainly located on either side of the barrel, and a light drag line on the cylinder (there are close-up pictures provided of these spots). The finish rates a easy 95% and as you can see from the pictures, there are no "eyesores" that take away from the attractive and clean overall look of the gun. The bore in the 6" inch barrel is superb, mirror-bright and still shows sharp lands and grooves in the rifling with no visible imperfections. The six cylinder bores are equally as clean and bright. The original factory Goncalo Alves grips on this Model 57 are particularly beautiful, showing a lot of contrasting color and figure on both sides. Both grips are free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. The checkering is still clean and crisp, and both S&W medallions are in excellent condition. The action on this Smith & Wesson is very smooth, slick, and perfectly "in time". Whether you work it fast or slow, or in single-action or double-action, this Model 57 is right on the money and it locks up tight with no felt play in the cylinder. All of the controls on this gun are in perfect working order and we have no doubt that it will shoot just as reliably and accurately now as when it first left the factory 40 years ago. If you have been looking for a Smith & Wesson revolver in .41 Magnum that would serve as both a great investment and a superb shooter, this 1980-production Model 57 would be an excellent choice. These do not come along often in any condition, much less as nice as this one.
