W.R. Pape 12 gauge 2.5” side-by-side hammer shotgun, 30" black powder proof damascus barrels with excellent bores, minimum wall thickness measurements of R .023 and L. .025, cylinder and cylinder choke, rib marked "W.R. Pape, Newcastle on Tyne, Winner of The London Gun Trials in 1858, 1859 and 1866", with patent push forward small under lever opener (often referred to as Pape's “tap lock”), locks marked "W.R. Pape" with beautiful engraving, non-rebounding nose-less hammers with rabbit ear spurs, double trigger, straight hand stock measuring 2.5” DAH, 1.5” DAC with 14 7/8” LOP to ebonite extension with top spur, keyed release forend, weight 6 lbs 14 oz. A very attractive gun of early 1870's vintage crafted by “The Purdey of the North” in excellent condition. Antique / No FFL Required.
