Description:
This is a very scarce British Hooked Quillion Pattern 1907 bayonet manufactured by Wilkinson and includes a proper first year scabbard. This example is dated 11/1908 and the ricasso is marked "Crown/ER/1907/11/08/Wilkinson" Reverse is marked with a Broad Arrow, 2 inspector marks and proof. Only about 25,575 Wilkinson bayonets manufactured 1908-1911 compared to about 175,000 by Enfield. Wooden grips are marked "CROWN/49" with inspectors mark. Pommel is unit marked "IN.F R.676" The Royal Inskilling Fusileers" an English Militia Infantry Unit. Mouth of the very early original MK I scabbard is matching "R.676" The internal chape has only the iron tip visible. Leather is marked "BROAD ARROW/AC/CROWN/INSPECTOR 09/INSPECTOR" Pattern 1907 hooked quillion bayonets are not common.
