Description:
DESCRIPTION: Winchester Model 94 in caliber 30 WCF. This one is known as a transitional model and falls in a narrow serial number from the mid-1930s. Serial number is 1125734, made 1937. Transitional features include the ramped front sight (missing the hood) and no saddle ring on receiver yet retains the early carbine style butt. Full magazine, 20" round barrel and walnut stocks are standard features.
CONDITION: Receiver retains 15% original bright blue with the balance flaked away, typical of this vintage where Winchester experienced problems with their bluing chemicals. Barrel and mag retain 85% bright original blue and the bore is a 9 of 10 showing only very light wear, bright and shiny with sharp rifling and no pitting. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished, just normal nicks and dings from use. Action is strong and the half cock safety feature operates as designed. Nice Marble's full buck horn rear sight and correct gold bead front sight. Upper tang shows wear typical of having a tang sight previously installed. Rifle has not been test-fired so have a competent gunsmith check it over before firing. Grades NRA Modern Very Good. Priced for quick sale so don't let this one slip away !!
