Description:
This is a Pre-War (aka First Generation) Colt Single Action Army Revolver with the desirable 4 3/4 inch barrel in .38WCF (.38-40) caliber. Serial number is 320556, manufactured in 1911 . Overall condition is very good smooth. Metal mostly blue gray with blue in protected areas. Bore has spotty light pitting, rifling is strong, lands and grooves are sharp. The right grip has minor chip almost not noticeable, but no cracks. The action is crisp and mechanically perfect and tight. This gun has seen use but was well cared for. Screw are all clean and original. This 108 year old gun has aged gracefully. Most metal shows antique patina smooth and clean. Correct 2-line bbl address. Very nice and readable as are all the markings. Well-preserved firearm.
This gun comes to us from Texas, but was originally shipped to New Orleans as you can see from the Colt Archival Letter which is included with the sale.
