Description:
S&W "SINGLE ACTION NEW MODEL 3, .44 Russian. This Model was originally introduced in 1878 and was manufactured until 1898. This Serial No. 32401 was shipped from the factory on November 7, 1900. It still qualifies as an antique because of its manufacture before 1898.  It has 98% of all the original factory nickel plating. The case coloring on the hammer and trigger is present. The mechanical action is perfect. The break open and eject and load mode is also perfect. ALL factory applied markings are clear and distinctly present. The S&W factory letter is included. The outstanding feature is the 7 1/2" barrel. In the the Jim Supica and Richard Nahas book the 7 1/2" barrel commands a 25% to 50% premium, page 66.
This specimen has the  VERY RARE FACTORY 7 1/2 INCH BARREL, and perfect checkered hard walnut grips . An excellent addition to any large frame collection, and S&W's finest revolver of the Frontier Period.
