Made in 1967, this example remains in UNFIRED condition. We cannot find evidence that a cartridge has even been loaded in the mag or into the chamber, and no marks on the bolt face. 20" bore, chamber, action interior, blueing, wood and wood finish are in superb and factory-original condition. Under close inspection, there are only a few small scattered nicks and pressure marks in the finish, from going in and out of the safe, and from having just existed for 50+ years. Factory "Fruit Wood" stock with plastic butt plate. The 99E was one of their newly introduced "economy" models, after the Savage factory moved to Westfield, Mass.
