Description:
This is an extremely scarce pre-ban Springfield M1A Bush Rifle with a factory Choate folding stock manufactured in March of 1994, complete with it's original box, owner's manual, and hangtags. This M1A is in excellent condition inside and out, and quite a few U.S.G.I. parts were used in it's construction. The Bush Rifle models were a limited run that ended with Assault Weapons Ban of 1994. Production of this model was never resumed after the ban expired. The Bush Rifles featured an 18" barrel, and black Choate fiberglass folding stock. The Bush rifles were the predecessors of the SOCOM16 and Scouts, and have become sought-after today by collectors and shooters alike. Most people consider these pre-ban guns as the best that Springfield ever built, with a lot more attention paid to fit and finish than later guns. The inclusion of original U.S.G.I. parts also makes them more desirable than later/current production. This particular example is serial number 078370 and is in beautiful condition overall. It has spent it's life in storage and is in as new (unfired) condition. It has a U.S.G.I. TRW bolt, a U.S.G.I. TRW op rod, and a U.S.G.I. TRW hammer and trigger parts. The original factory Parkerizing rates 99+%, with only some very minor handling marks visible under very close inspection. The stock on this Springfield is in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. All of the controls on this M1A are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight. The action on this rifle is slick and smooth, and the bolt turns into battery perfectly without any slop. The factory trigger is exceptional, breaking at the 2nd stage with a light pull with no grit or excessive travel. We have no doubt that this rifle will shoot just as well today as the day it left the factory 26 years ago. It comes complete with an original US GI 20-round magazine, in perfect working order. As mentioned before, this rifle comes with the original box (numbered to the rifle), instructions, and hang tag. If you look at the picture of the end of the box with the small factory stick-on label you will see the Springfield catalog number of "AA9110", which is correct for a Bush Rifle with a factory folding stock.
