We are offering for sale a U.S. Springfield MODEL 1884 Percussion Rifle chambered in .45/70 Govt. caliber. This is an original rifle in very good overall condition.
32 ½” barrel is very good with a nice brown patina. No damage noted. Original sights intact. Bore is clean without pitting; Good rifling present. Sidelock remains very good with traces of case colors. "US Springfield" mark crisp. The trapdoor also shows traces of original case colors; "1884" model mark is very good. The gun functions flawlessly! It appears to be a good shooter if the buyer wished so. Original stock is very good without damage; definite handling wear present. “U” marked barrel bands intact. Original cleaning rod intact. Buttplate with swivel door is good with some oxidation wear; Top of buttplate marked "US B 10 13". Original bayonet intact.
