Description:
Springfield model 1884 in 45-70.This rifle is stamped on both sides of the stock "Co.A 6th Inf".The rifle is set up for hunting or target shooting by adding a false pistol grip and a front sight hood.The bore is mint and free of any rust or pitting.The rifle retains around 85% of the original wood and metal finish.There is a faint inspectors cartouche on the left side of the stock.The trigger is excellent breaking at 21/2 lbs with no creep.This would be a fun rifle to hunt or target shoot with as well as a fine addition to a collection.Built in 1888,so it can be shipped direct.
