Description:
This is a men's two pocket battledress jacket (size 5) in somewhat coarse olive-brown worsted with button front and buckle closure on the hem. There are scarce printed canvas patches on both shoulders: "ROYAL CANADIAN/ARMY SERVICE CORPS" flashes; canvas unit identifiers; and Corporal's chevrons. Additionally, there are three red service chevrons on the right sleeve above the cuff and a four place ribbon bar above the left breast pocket that houses a 1939-1945 Star ribbon, France and Germany Star ribbon, Defense Medal ribbon, and a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal ribbon. The jacket is in fine shape and has an intact olive green cloth lining with a full complement of uniform buttons and a legible maker's stamp on the interior (S.&G. Clothing Co. Ltd.) with a May 1945 date.
