EXCELLENT EARLY COLT LIGHTNING 1ST. MODEL MEDIUM FRAME .38-40 CAL. SLIDE ACTION RIFLE MANUFACTURED IN 1887. 24” round barrel with full length magazine tube and original factory elevator rear and German silver blade front sights. Desirable First Model with “Open Top” frame and trigger guard slide release safety. Hartford address with early Elliot patent dates (May 29,1883 & Sept. 18, 1883). All matching and original serial numbered in the 21,xxx range. Extra nice condition with 95-97% original blue and nearly all the color case hardening on the hammer. Exceptionally nice walnut stock and checkered slide handle with all the original finish. Very good bore with well defined rifling. Perfect working order.
