Description:
.450/400 - 3" nitro express caliber. 27" stepped barrel with folding express rear sights and ribbed front Marked "Fried. Krupp, Essen" behind the rear sight. Farquharson single shot falling block action, fully engraved with the Jeffery Co. logo on the left side. Checkered forend with horn forend cap. Pistol grip checkered buttstock measuring 14 1/2" to a factory basket weaved checkered steel buttplate with trap. A Lyman folding peep sight is present at the grip. Factory sling swivels. This rifle is featured in "BRITISH SINGLE SHOT RIFLES, VOLUME 3" by Wal Winfer, page 133, fig 122c. In very fine original condition with much of the blue remaining on the barrel. The action has faded to a pleasing gray with muted case colors still visible. Very nice wood and checkering. Good bore with sharp rifling. This is a beautiful rifle that has been used but very well cared for.
