Description:
I. Christophe Bruxeilles Double rifle in 450/348 Ackley caliber. This is very close to the 450 Alaskan caliber developed by Harold Johnson of Cooper River, AK. except the case of the Ackley is slightly blown out and the shoulder angle is steeper. This gun was custom built in Belguim in the early 1960's. It was made by Jules Bury, one of the best Belgium makers. This gun is very well regulated and I can group both barrels in 3 inches at 100 yards. I have developed loads for 300, 350 and 400 grain bullets. The loaded cartidge is loaded with a 400 grain Swift A-Frame bullet. The fired bullet was taken from under the right side of the hide of a one ton Cape Buffalo that I killed with one shot to the left shoulder. The Buff ran in a U shaped track and fell dead in 15 yards. The bullet broke the left shoulder, took out both lungs and took the arteries of the top of the heart. The balistics for the 400 grain load are MV 2150 fps, 4000 ftp. The gun has a 1 1/2 X 5 Leupold VIII scope. It has 24 1/2 inch barrels and retains some case colors. Actuated front trigger, beautiful wood and weighs 8 pounds and 4 ounces. A proven big game rifle with excellent bores. Comes with a set of RCBS dies, loading data and some cases. This would also make an excellent Brown Bear stopper. Bruxelles is a merchant and markets guns made by others. This gun was made by Jules Bury of Belguim.
