Description:
This is a beautiful and all-original pre-ban Norinco Model 56S AK rifle in 7.62x39 caliber. Imported by Sile in New York prior to the assualt weapons ban, this Model 56S was made by Norinco's "Triangle 66" factory in China and is the closest thing that you can get to a real Chinese Military AK-47 as a civilian. It features a commercial quality deep gloss-blue finish on the metal, an original Chinese Military fixed stock set made of Manchurian Chu wood, a heavy-profiled chrome-lined barrel with a threaded muzzle (14x1mm LH threads) with a hooded "fat" front sight, a front gas block with an intact bayonet lug and sling loop, an original under-barrel mounted cleaning rod, and a standard Chinese Military style adjustable rear sight with a "battle" setting and elevation adjustments out to 800 meters. These Norinco Model 56S AK's are considered by many to be the finest commercially-made AK rifle ever made by any country. The fit and finish of the parts and the factory blue finish is second to none. They are well known for being unbelievably reliable and extremely accurate for an AK-style weapon. This particular example is in excellent condition overall and appears to have been fired very little since arriving in the States. The factory gloss blue finish rates 96% plus, with the only deductions coming from some very minor handling marks. As you can see from the pictures, this 56S is very attractive and looks exceptionally clean. The chrome-lined bore in this Norinco is pristine and in perfect condition. The rifling does not show any wear whatsoever and has sharp lands and grooves throughout. Like the exterior of the gun, the internals in this AK are very clean and show very little to no mechanical wear. All of the numbered parts on this Model 56S are matching and 100% original, including the bolt carrier, bolt body, recoil spring guide, gas tube, dust cover, and receiver. The original Manchurian Chu wood stock set is in excellent condition overall. All 4 pieces of the stock set are free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage/wear. The wood is naturally soft and does show some minor handling/storage marks, but otherwise is excellent with a 100% intact factory varnish and all of the original stock hardware intact and in excellent condition. The blued steel buttplate has a trap in it that holds the original factory/Chinese Military-issue cleaning kit. The only thing on this Norinco Model 56S that isn't factory original is the removable muzzle brake, which is a vintage Chinese-made piece that was an upgrade to the original slant-style brake. The action on this AK is slick and stout, and when released from the rearward position it slams home locking into battery. All of the controls on this AK are in perfect working order including the trigger which is exceptionally good, and we have no doubt that it will shoot just as reliably and accurately as the day it left the Triangle 66 factory more than 26 years ago. This Model 56S comes complete with one original 30-round Chinese spineless blued steel magazine, also in excellent condition and 100% functional. If you have been looking for an investment-quality AK-style weapon for your collection this pre-ban Norinco Model 56S would be an excellent choice. This is the "Cadillac" of pre-ban AK rifles, and would certainly qualify as a centerpiece to any AK collection.
