Here is a beautiful condition Schmidt Rubin model 1911 non-import marked rifle. The rifle is all numbers matching, including matching box magazine, except for the lower barrel band which is numbered 129. The bore is perfect with strong visible rifling. It does have some small minor dings and scratches, typical for a military surplus rifle. However this is one of the nicest military rifles we have seen in a long time. The Schmidt Rubin model 1911 is a straight pull bolt action manufactured for the Swiss military in 1911 to fill in missing stock during the conversion of the model 1896 Schmidt Rubin to 1911 specs with the adoption of the GP11 cartridge. What is special about the M1911 is the stock was made with a semi-pistol grip and the locking lugs were relocated to the center of the bolt. Creating the strongest of the Schmidt Rubin actions. Of all the straight pull bolt actions manufactured, the Schmidt Rubin is one of the smoothest actions ever built for military use. Every collector should have one of these unique rifles in their collection.
