Webley & Son, St. James's, London: A Best Grade Webley That is Totally Original With a Jones Action Underlever Back-Action Lock Non-Rebounding Hammer 450 3 1/4" Black Powder Express Double Rifle Completed by Webley Approximately in 1893, 28" Damascus Henry rifled barrels, Dolls head rib extension, Full length rib with 1 standing & 1 folding rear sights that are platinum or silver lined, Percussion style fences, Stalking hammer safeties to the rear of the hammers, Dolphin hammers, Bushed strikers, Full length trigger guard tang to a steel engraved grip cap, Extremely solid and sound wood with nice color & contrast, Shadowline cheekpiece, Sling eyes, Lever release forend tiedown, 14 1/2" LOP over a steel buttplate, 8 lbs. 12 oz., 70% coverage of classic fine scroll engraving, The original & honest barrel brown remains at 55-60% with near perfect striking, This piece has 30-35% original case colors remaining, The butt & forend are as solid as they were approximately 127 years ago, The original stock finish is at 83-85% and never refinished, The original checkering remains at 90%, The bores remain almost like they did in 1893 and are absolutely excellent plus and totally free of any pits the entire way. This piece is accurate, and all the loading information is available from a very astute rifleman. I have had my fair share of classic pre-turn of the century double guns and rifles and this piece represents a lot of years with very good custodians as it was well kept. As my friend Mr. Wal Winfer would say, "We are but temporary custodians of all things on this planet. Treat this old piece gently. Load and shoot it with care.
