Description:
For sale is a very clean Colt 1860 Army percussion revolver, made in 1863. Serial number 124170. Per Charlie Pate, he believes this gun was shipped to the New York Arsenal in mid June 1863; an additional source believes it likely to have been shipped to the 19th New York Volunteer Cavalry. All serial numbers match throughout the gun as seen in the pictures; the serial number is also written in the channel inside the grips. The grips both show inspection cartouches correct for the period: John Taylor on the right side and John S Duston on the left. The barrel exhibits strong rifling. This is a very clean Civil War-issued revolver that has not been messed with and would make a great addition to your collection at a reasonable price. Not many today exhibit all matching numbers and correct cartouches. I will be glad to answer any questions or provide additional pictures upon request.
