Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are over the top proud to offer this fine example of Winchester's venerable Model 21 in a small bore with 28 inch tubes. Winchester was late to the classic American double party, but they sure showed up with a winner. Introduced when several of the other big names were faltering, the Model 21 was offered well into the 1980's. It also benefitted from the latest trends and technologies, most often fitted with single selective triggers and ejectors. This gun was made in the year of our Lord 1952, and the Cody letter confirms the configuration. She was no safe queen, but she is in very good condition. There are minor handling marks, and the receiver has begun to silver out. The rest of the deep lustrous blue is fairly strong, with some thinning around the muzzle and carry points. She locks up tight, and the lever still resides to the right of center. Ejectors toss the empties, and the bores of the 28 inch barrels are great. An old timer once told me concerning the Model 21, "If it doesn't say Winchester on the barrels, don't buy it." The chokes are still modified and full. The drops are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 inches, and the LOP to the single trigger is 14 inches. Dainty for a strong built shotgun, she weighs in at just under 6 1/4 pounds. She is a pleasure to carry and point. The nicely figured walnut bears very good checkering. The Winchester labeled case is also in very good condition. The single biggest concern expressed by buyers is originality, and this gun should put them at ease. It is in "right from the field" condition, an honest gun that saw some good care. Let's look at value. The Model 21 is the gold standard in the market, holding their value and ever increasing as the decades go by. I see one of the big name sellers has a 20 gauge with 26 inch barrels listed for 11,500. The same seller has a 12 gauge for 9500. Neither have Cody letters. I will list this one for less than either. If you have been looking for the right Winchester 21 to collect or for investment, but want the extra clout of a small bore with 28 inch barrels, then look no further.
