Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are mighty proud to offer this fine example of Winchester's model 71 deluxe. Fitted with checkered and capped pistol grip stock, it also came with factory sling mounts. A desirable option was the Lyman 98A bolt mounted peep sight, and this one has it. Made in the year of our Lord 1937, this is the early long tang version. This lever gun was no safe queen, and likely spent decades putting meat on the table. The blue has thinned and there are some scratches on the barrel. The left side of the receiver has some slightly rough patches, and the wood has light handling marks. The stock is fitted with a very good condition hard rubber butt plate. The bore of the 24 inch barrel is good, and the action is smooth and tight. This model was introduced as the evolution of the model 1886. It is chambered in the potent .348 Winchester, a great load for elk and bear. These guns have really held their value and have been increasing for decades, sometimes breaking 5000 dollars. I will list this one for much less. A similar 71 with 3 added holes in the receiver sold for 3050 on 2/04/20. If you have been looking for the right 71 deluxe, but want the added clout of a long tang with a bolt peep, then look no further.
