Description:
This rifled choke 12 gauge double barrel shotgun shoots birdshot as well as .735 Fosbery projectiles that weigh about 785 grains.  The gun was made in 1909 and reproofed in the UK at 850 bar in 2002 after a bulge was fixed and the chamber opened to 70mm (2-3/4 inches).  Wood and metal are in good shape (see photos).  Barrels are 27-1/2 inches as in Certificate (see photos); LOP is now 14-1/2 inches with some cast off.  Ejectors work fine

The gun is cased with Cogswell & Harrison-marked oil bottle, chamber brush and snap caps.  A rod, jag, brush and swab are in the case.  Two maker's labels, one paper and one leatherette are included with either one to be glued into the case.

Gunsmith Ken Owen has regulated the gun with his own cast .735 Fosbery projectiles.  He has told me he got a better than two inch group at 50 yards.  He also fixed a worn sear and recrowned the barrels.  Fifty rounds of his ammunition are included along with 25 extra projectiles, a mould, tongs and roll crimper for making more.  I have not reloaded for it, but understand it takes 20 grains of unique, buyer would need to verify by dismantling one of the rounds.
