Description:
This is a signed presentation Southgate rifle presented to C H Howell, winner of the Dixie M L contest in 1961 and inscribed as such. The rifle has a 38" barrel, 45 cal., 13 1/2 LOP, single trigger and a tang sight. The rifle came to me direct from the Howell family. Condition is very good overall and showes little use. It is "as found" and has not been cleaned up. If it was cleaned up and the brass polished, it would make a very pretty rifle.
Royland Southgate, 1915-1979, lived and worked in Franklin, Tenn. and over his lifetime is believed to have built around 1000 rifles. A lot of his standard rifles are numbered on the tang. This particular rifle is unnumbered, and made ecpecially for the above named contest. Classed as an antique and can be shipped direct. Price includes shippping in Conus.
