Incredible European Shotgun with Damascus Barrels!
Here we present an antique Damascus Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, made circa 1860s in Belgium.
This would likely have been exported from Belgium to a country like the United States with a thriving market for all sorts of firearms. As people moved West and settled in remote areas, hunting was especially important to put food on the table. This would have been a good gun for fowl hunting. It bears Belgian proof marks on the underside of the barrel. The barrel rib reads “DAMASCUS TWIST”. The engraved scenes of hunting dogs and gold inlaid game are clear.
The overall condition is Good. The action is strong and tight. The bores are smooth and dark with age and in good condition overall.
