Description:
Here we have a lively little 43 cal. park rifle by William Rochester Pape from his works at Newcastle On Tyne, the location of Pape gunmaking from 1857 to 1862.
Gun #175
30" octagon barrel.  Rough spot about 12" from the muzzle - barrel has not been lapped yet or any other attempt made to smooth that out.
Rod is an oak dowel replacement.
One standing sight and two folding leaves.
Lovely, well figured quarter sawn walnut stocking with much original finish, usual marks with the worst of it around the lock screw head.
Steel butt plate with ornate extension over the heel.
Horn forend tip.
Single set trigger that functions properly.
Overall a nice little rifle which has escaped the heavy hand of the refinisher for about 160 years!
