Description:
On Consignment - Burnside Carbine chambered in .54 caliber (black powder). This, as near as we can tell, is a 4th Model probably produced around 1864. On the side of the stock is carved what appears to be a surname of Hueoler. A search of Ancestry did not provide a lead on who this might have been. The other side of the stock has what appears to be a target carved into the wood. The bore has lite frosting or pitting. Overall the metal rates in as Good on the NRA guide for antiques, but the stock rates in at Fair, giving the overall condition a Fair++.
