This is a very handsome and clean Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand that was originally built in December of 1955 during the Korean War era. All parts on this rifle are H&R manufacture, except the bolt assembly which is Springfield Armory. The original Harrington & Richardson barrel which is dated 12-54 has a perfect, mirror-bright bore with no visible imperfections whatsoever. We gauged it with erosion gauges and it measured 2+ at the muzzle and 3 at the throat. The original stock set on this Garand is in very nice condition, with perfectly matched handguards and no cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. The D.O.D. Eagle cartouche is still nice and visible on the left side of the stock. All of the stock hardware is intact, tight, and in great shape, including the trap-door buttplate. All of the controls on this M1 Garand are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight. The action on this Springfield is both slick, smooth, and precise. The bolt turns into battery perfectly without any slop, and the headspace is perfect. This M1 Garand should be exceptionally accurate and reliable, just as good or better than the day it originally left the factory in 1955. Includes a CMP certificate of authenticity, and an original U.S.G.I. green sling that is dated 05-55 in excellent condition.
