Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1952+-,  20 Gauge, 6lbs 14oz, Chokes IC/M, LOP 14 3/8", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 5/8"
Serial Number: 112100

The Winchester Model 24 was Winchester’s answer to an affordable side x side to compete with other makers of the day.  The guns were made from 1939 to the late 1950’s with almost 116,000 made, most of those in 12ga. guns.  The 12ga. guns were decidedly clunky, but the 20ga. guns are actually quite nice in hand and balance for a fine vintage field gun.  This gun is an amazing find, in that it is VIRTUALLY AS NEW, LIKELY UNFIRED, WITH 100% OF ITS FACTORY FINISHES INTACT, INCLUDING THE WOOD FINISH…WITHOUT FLAW.  There are no primer marks on the breech face around the firing pin holes and just assembly marks from the extractors pushing against the standing breech when assembled and closed.  The gun weighs 6lb.s 14oz. and is balanced dead on the hinge pin with its desirable 28” barrels choked IC/M, really a nice handling gun.  The bores and mechanics are perfect, as are the screws, and there is not a mark in the wood.  No…this is not a Model 21 or a Parker in quality, but it is built on a forged steel receiver and the Model 24 has always been known as a dependable gun that always goes “boom” when you pull the trigger.  Finding a prime example of this model is near impossible, so if you are a Winchester collector and you don’t have a Factory Mint condition Model 24 in your possession this is your chance to do so.  If you are an upland gunner or a vintage clays competitor, you will love showing up at the club or field to show this gun off to your friends.  The Model 24 is a very unique looking double gun with Winchester quality throughout.  Not only that, this is an affordable vintage American 20ga. side x side, so don’t miss out on this one!  Thanks for looking.
