- Airweight K frame
- Pre-steel aluminum cylinder (never sent in for recall making this piece very desirable)
- Early diamond walnut grips with S&W logo (inside of grips serial numbered to gun)
- Early flat latch
- Groove rear sight and raised serrated front sight
- 6 shot cylinder
- 2" pinned barrel (serial number matching)
- Assembly #Z1027
- Made 1954-1984
- Standard production began at serial number C223999, based on this Factory info, this was the 142nd revolver built in this model run
- This is the S&W prototype (pre-model 12) designed for the Air Force
- Very rare to find these with the original aluminum cylinder and unmolested
